Five Asian teams will travel to Waterford in July for the 2026 GAA World Games, representing the continuing growth of Gaelic Games across the region.
Five Asian Teams Head to Waterford
Asian GAA will be represented at the 2026 GAA World Games in Waterford this July, with five teams preparing to take part in one of the biggest events on the international Gaelic Games calendar. The tournament gives players from across Asia the opportunity to represent their clubs and region on a global stage, while celebrating the continued growth of Gaelic football, hurling and camogie beyond Ireland. Teams from Asia will join international Gaelic Games communities from around the world in Waterford. Their participation reflects the strength of the region’s club network and the commitment of players, coaches and volunteers who continue to develop the games across the continent.
A Milestone for Asian GAA
For many involved, the World Games is an opportunity to reconnect with the wider GAA community while representing the distinctive character, diversity and ambition of Asian GAA. The World Games comes during a significant year for Gaelic Games in Asia, with regional competitions, youth development and major events continuing to build momentum across both North and South Asia.
